This is a sister design to the Hexagon , using the exact same technique. With just a slight adjustment, it can be transformed from a hexagon into a classic circle. It increases the frequency of color changes and decorations, making the process easy and fun.

Basic Information

Difficulty level: Beginner
Production time: within two hours
Material:
  • 10mm crochet hook
  • Worsted wool yarn, holding two strands at a time
  • Color A: White, approximately 22g, 45ml
  • Color B: Blue, approximately 14g, 30ml
Finished size: 16cm in diameter

Instruction

Start with color A, make a magic ring.

Round 1: Ch 1, make 6 sc in the ring, sl st in the 1st sc. 6 sts

Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st across, sl st in the 1st sc. 12 sts

Round 3: Ch 1, (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) for 6 times, sl st in the 1st sc. 18 sts


Round 4: Ch 1, (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, sc in next st) for 6 times, switch to color B, sl st in the 1st sc. 24 sts

Round 5: Ch 1, (sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st) for 6 times, sl st in the 1st sc then sl st in every st of current round, switch to color A, sl st in the 1st sc. 30 sts

Round 6: Ch 1, (sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) for 6 times, sl st in the 1st sc. 36 sts

Round 7: Ch 1, (sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st) for 6 times alternating color A and B in every st, refer to video tutorial, sl st in the 1st sc. 42 sts


Round 8: Ch 1, (sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts,) for 6 times, switch to color B, sl st in the 1st sc. 48 sts

Round 9: Ch 1, (sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in next st) for 5 times, sc in next 7 sts, (sc*, ch 6, sl st in sc*, sc) in the last st, sl st in the 1st sc, sl st in every st of current round except the ch, sl st in the 1st sc. 54 sts

Cut yarn leaving a 15 cm/6" tail.

Weave in ends.

Wash and lay flat to dry. Enjoy!
